Job Description

Wandahome, Knottingley is one of the country's leading retailers of leisure touring vehicles. Established for over 70 years, we are looking to recruit a bright, self-motivated, reliable and customer facing individual to work as a Sales Executive.

Reporting to the Sales Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for selling new and used touring vehicles and achieving sales targets.

Previous experience in a similar customer facing role would be advantageous however on the job training will be provided to the successful applicant. A willingness to learn, reliability and a desire to provide excellent customer service is essential. The duties will include but are not exclusive to:

Sales and Customer Service Responsibilities



Being one of the first points of contact for customers, ensuring they are welcomed onto the Company premises in a friendly and punctual manner.

Ascertaining the customers individual needs to ensure they are sold the caravan which is most suited for them.

Negotiating deals with customers which are mutually beneficial to the customer and to the Company and completing customer paperwork.

Maximise the sales of accessories, extended warranty and any additional extras to the customers.

Introduce the customer to the Business Manager for sale of finance and any other additional extras.

Liaising with the Sales Director about new and ongoing sales and potential sales opportunities whilst keeping them up to date with any additional information they may need.

Arranging with customers a mutually convenient date for the caravan to be despatched and the part exchange to be brought in if this is applicable.

On the day of caravan collection, customers are to be greeted and shown through the workings internal and external of the caravan, ensuring the customer is happy with the handover and despatch paperwork is completed correctly.

Manage customer expectations by keeping them well informed and explain any changes or provide updates as and when they occur.

Build and maintain smooth relationships with customers to obtain loyalty.

Inspecting and looking over part-exchange caravans and complete part-exchange forms correctly and accurately.

Assist in moving caravans around the site on a regular basis and rearranging the showroom on a weekly basis.

Regularly ensuring all caravans are clean and up to sale condition.

Assisting in keeping the site clean and tidy.

Attend trade shows away from site as a sales representative at least twice a year.

Weekend work expected, a minimum of one day.

Administrative Responsibilities



Be computer literate, ensuring customer details are entered onto the internal systems in a clear, concise and professional manner.

Ensuring the sales diaries are kept up to date and are ready for inspection.

Regularly contacting customers via telephone and email in order to follow up on possible sales opportunities and making courtesy calls following sales.

Maintain an up to date knowledge of products sold by conducting research and on the job training.

Once established in the role, training new members of staff to join the sales team.

Candidate must be able to:



Demonstrate a committed and professional approach to working with customers to provide them with the best caravan to suit their needs.

Maintain a standard of honesty and integrity.

Demonstrate the ability to consistently meet performance expectations.

Develop productive and cooperative relationships with other departments within the organisation to ensure the success of the business.

Be able to understand and demonstrate an understanding of the commercial and business implications of their actions.

Maintain a professional appearance at all times.

Perform additional tasks based on management requirements and instructions.

Endeavour to promote harmony and team spirit within the department as well as with others.

Be able to attend caravan trade shows as a sales representative at least twice a year.

The ideal candidate should strive to achieve the highest possible levels of customer satisfaction and maintain the highest level of professionalism at all times.

The ideal candidate would be available to work full time on a rota, 5 days a week. This will include weekend work.

Due to the location of the site, the successful applicant should ideally have their own transportation.

Salary: Basic Wage 19,000 + Commission, on target sales potential earnings of 45,000+ per year (dependant on sales).
