Sales Executive

Job Description

The Sales Executive is responsible for managing and growing sales with existing trade customers while developing new business within the construction and glazing sectors. The role focuses on following up quotations, understanding customer requirements, providing technical input, value engineering projects, and delivering a professional, knowledgeable sales experience that strengthens long-term relationships.

Key Responsibilities



Sales & Customer Management



Follow up issued quotations promptly to secure orders Obtain structured feedback on pricing, specifications, and service levels Build and maintain strong relationships with existing trade customers Proactively identify and develop new trade accounts (installers, builders, contractors) Act as a professional point of contact for customer enquiries and project discussions Represent the company's capabilities clearly and accurately to the trade market

Technical & Commercial Support



Demonstrate a solid technical understanding of window and frame systems Interpret drawings, schedules, and specifications where required Assist customers with

value engineering

, offering cost-effective alternatives while maintaining performance and compliance Work closely with estimating, production, and operations teams to ensure feasibility and accuracy

Business Development



Identify opportunities within existing accounts for repeat or increased business Research and target new customers within relevant sectors and regions Attend meetings, site visits, or trade-related events as required

Daily Tasks & Activities



Review and action quotation follow-ups via phone and email Log customer conversations, feedback, and outcomes in the CRM or sales system Respond to technical or commercial enquiries from trade customers Liaise internally with estimating and production teams on live opportunities Identify upcoming projects and tender opportunities through customer discussions Update sales pipeline and prioritise active opportunities

Recording & Reporting



Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of: Customer interactions Quotation status Pricing feedback and objections Order conversions and losses Produce regular sales reports including: Pipeline status Quote-to-order conversion rates Customer activity summaries Market and pricing feedback Provide insights to management on competitor activity, pricing trends, and customer needs

Skills & Experience



Proven experience in B2B or trade sales, ideally within windows, glazing, aluminium, construction products, or manufacturing Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand and explain specifications Experience dealing with installers, builders, contractors, or similar trade customers Confident communicator with a professional phone and email manner Commercially aware, with the ability to value engineer and problem-solve
Organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable using simple IT systems

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 30,000.00-40,000.00 per year
