Job Description

As Sales Executive, you will be responsible for driving sales growth of South Ormsby Estate's drinks portfolio, with a strong focus on gin, across farm shops, independent retailers, pubs, bars, and hospitality venues. This is a highly field-based role, suited to someone confident in face-to-face selling, account development, and brand-led sales within the premium drinks sector.

You will build strong, long-term relationships with stockists and on-trade partners, actively open new accounts, and grow distribution and visibility of the Estate's gin range. Alongside delivering sales targets, you will provide valuable insight into customer behaviour, competitor activity, and market trends to support future commercial growth.

Key Responsibilities



Gin & Drinks Sales Delivery



Drive sales of the Estate's gin and drinks portfolio, achieving and exceeding monthly and annual targets. Develop and manage a strong pipeline of farm shops, independent retailers, pubs, bars, and hospitality accounts. Proactively open new stockists and on-trade listings, while re-engaging dormant or underperforming accounts. Maximise distribution, ranging, and rate of sale through effective account planning and relationship management. Spend significant time in the field conducting tastings, product demonstrations, menu placements, and staff training where appropriate. Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates, adapting plans to market conditions.

Account Management & Customer Relationships



Build trusted, long-term relationships with buyers, owners, managers, and bar teams. Identify opportunities to increase sales through promotions, seasonal listings, limited editions, and upselling. Ensure excellent execution in-store and on-trade, including visibility, merchandising, and brand presentation.

Market & Commercial Insight



Track competitor brands, pricing, promotions, and activity within the gin and premium spirits category. Gather customer and trade feedback to inform pricing, positioning, and future product development. Provide clear, practical insights to the Managing Director to support commercial and strategic decisions.

Brand Representation



Act as a passionate brand ambassador for South Ormsby Estate and its gin range. Represent the business at trade shows, tastings, events, and industry networking opportunities. Confidently communicate the Estate's story, provenance, and quality credentials to trade partners.

Internal Collaboration



Work closely with the Distillery, Hospitality, Events, and Operations teams to ensure seamless delivery. Coordinate orders, logistics, and customer requirements to maintain high service standards.

Candidate Profile



You will be a results-driven drinks sales professional with a strong understanding of the gin and premium spirits market. You are confident selling into farm shops, independent retailers, pubs, and bars, enjoy being in the field, and thrive on building relationships and growing accounts.

Essential Requirements



Proven sales experience within gin, spirits, or the wider drinks industry. Demonstrable success selling to farm shops, independent retailers, pubs, bars, or hospitality venues. Strong product knowledge and passion for gin and premium drinks. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Experience managing sales pipelines, forecasting, and account development. Commercial awareness with the ability to identify growth opportunities in both on- and off-trade. Highly organised, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently in the field. Willingness to travel regularly and represent the brand professionally at all times.
