We are seeking a dynamic and driven Sales Executive to take the lead in growing our events and hospitality sales. This role will focus on increasing customer footfall, driving new business, and developing corporate and leisure accounts. This is a hands-on execution role; you'll be comfortable working autonomously with limited guidance and experienced in startups, scale-ups, or founder-led businesses. You thrive in fast-moving environments where you build and learn as you go.
This role is based at Towcester Racecourse (5 days/week on-site presence expected) with occasional travel. Please note, some events (racing, weddings, corporate functions, Derby etc.) require evening or weekend presence; time off in lieu will be granted on those occasions.
Compensation
This role has a base salary of 40,000 per annum plus commission (OTE 65,000, with potential to reach 80,000). A full breakdown of the commission structure can be provided at interview stage.

Principal accountabilities and responsibilities
Hit the ground running. We are already in full swing preparation for 2026 Greyhound Derby. The Sales Executive will need to have an immediate focus on selling tickets and packages.
Proactively generate and close new business across events, hospitality, and group bookings.
Prepare for the return of horse racing by developing packages and partnerships that expand our audience base.
Develop relationships with corporate partners, sponsors, and hospitality clients.
Drive hospitality and corporate sales for all major racing events
Work with marketing to ensure sales has the collateral and campaigns needed to close business.
Create and deliver strategies to increase customer attendance and engagement on race nights.
Work with the events and operations teams to ensure seamless delivery of packages.
Grow and manage a pipeline of repeat and long-term business.
Qualifications & Experience
Proven experience in sales within the events, hospitality, leisure, or sports industries.
Strong understanding of customer engagement and event-driven sales.
Racecourse, racing, or sporting venue experience highly beneficial.
Expert level stakeholder management both internally and externally with a tenacity to get things done
Ability to think creatively to add value to ideas or solve problems
Experience of leading and managing a team of people [either directly as a line manager or indirectly facilitating projects and events)
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams etc.)
Ability to successfully deal with a large group of internal and external stakeholders
