Job Description


We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Sales Intern to join the Group Sales Team, working across all divisions at HarperCollins UK. The role sits within the Trade Marketing team, and the successful candidate will work with both Trade Marketing (UK and International) and the Field Sales team (who look after independent bookshops across the UK and Ireland). This is an exciting entry level opportunity for someone who is passionate about high street bookshops and interested in driving HarperCollins communications and relationships with booksellers.

The internship will run 4th September - 30th November 2023 (3-month FTC).

Key Responsibilities:

\xc2\xb7 Creating retailer PowerPoint presentations

\xc2\xb7 Managing and co-ordinating mailings to booksellers and retailers

\xc2\xb7 Ad hoc order processing

\xc2\xb7 Updating and maintaining retailer grids

\xc2\xb7 Assisting with author stock signings

\xc2\xb7 Helping to run trade-facing social media accounts and inboxes

\xc2\xb7 Updating the IndieThinking website

\xc2\xb7 Curating trade-facing newsletters

\xc2\xb7 Building relationships with retailers (e.g. Waterstones and independent booksellers)

\xc2\xb7 Assisting the Trade Marketing team with events

\xc2\xb7 Assisting the Field Sales and Trade Marketing teams with day-to-day tasks

People Specification:

\xc2\xb7 Excellent verbal and written communication skills

\xc2\xb7 Organisation and prioritisation skills with the ability to meet deadlines

\xc2\xb7 Attention to detail

\xc2\xb7 Strong relationship building skills

\xc2\xb7 Collaborative team player

\xc2\xb7 Skills in MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel)

\xc2\xb7 Driven and proactive, with a willingness to learn

\xc2\xb7 Prior experience in the publishing industry is not required
