About the Role



We're looking for a dynamic and driven Sales Manager to lead event and partnership sales at one of the UK's most iconic landmarks - The Blackpool Tower. Home to the world-famous Tower Ballroom, beloved by millions as the setting for Strictly Come Dancing, The Blackpool Tower offers an unforgettable venue for private, corporate, and public events.

This role will focus on driving event sales across all Tower venues including the Ballroom, Fifth Floor, and other flexible spaces. You will also manage trade sales relationships, working with local and national partners to maximise ticket distribution for our attractions.

The ideal candidate will be commercially minded, customer-focused, and capable of building strong B2B relationships while achieving ambitious sales targets. A key part of the role also involves contributing to the wider success of the

, by working collaboratively with other local tourism and event partners to create joined-up, mutually beneficial offers and experiences.

Key Responsibilities



Event Sales & Business Development



Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities across corporate, private, and special event sectors. Promote the Blackpool Tower Ballroom and other venues as unique, high-value event destinations. Build and manage a healthy pipeline of event clients through outreach, relationship building, and referrals. Deliver and exceed monthly and annual sales targets. Develop tailored proposals and packages to meet client needs and maximise conversion.

Work collaboratively with other Blackpool resort partners

(e.g. attractions, hotels, conference venues) to develop cross-promotional opportunities that support the overall visitor economy and destination appeal.

Enquiry Handling & Conversion



Ensure a 100% response rate to all incoming event and group sales enquiries. Work to achieve high enquiry-to-booking conversion rates by providing timely, professional, and engaging responses. Maintain detailed records of enquiries, conversions, and client communications through CRM systems. Continuously improve sales processes and materials to increase effectiveness.

Trade & Partnership Sales



Manage and develop relationships with local and national trade accounts (e.g. tour operators, ticket agents, hotels). Secure distribution agreements to maximise attendance and ticket sales to Tower attractions. Ensure all partner pricing and packages are commercially viable and aligned with agreed margins. Track performance of trade accounts and identify opportunities for growth.

Commercial & Financial Management



Monitor event and trade sales performance against agreed KPIs and targets. Work with the finance team to manage client invoicing, payment collection, and financial reporting. Assist with pricing strategies, annual budgeting, and forecasting. Ensure sales meet profitability expectations and support broader commercial goals.

Marketing & Promotion Support



Collaborate with the marketing team to support campaigns, offers, and event promotions. Represent The Blackpool Tower at trade shows, exhibitions, and networking events. Provide feedback to marketing on trends, client needs, and opportunities. Contribute to sales collateral, case studies, and promotional materials.

Experience



- At least 3 years in a sales role, ideally in events, tourism, or hospitality.
- Proven success in converting enquiries into confirmed bookings.
- Experience managing B2B or trade accounts.
- Working to targets and KPIs.

- Experience selling landmark or heritage venues.
- CRM systems experience.
- Budget or revenue responsibility.

Knowledge



- Strong knowledge of the events and tourism sector.
- Commercial understanding of venue sales and margins.

- Understanding of ticketing partnerships and travel trade.
- Awareness of Blackpool's tourism market.

Skills



- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong written and presentation abilities.
- High attention to detail and time management.
- Ability to manage multiple projects.
- Comfortable with financial reporting and invoicing.

- CRM software proficiency (e.g. Salesforce).
- Confident in public speaking and event pitches.

Pay: 35,000.00-40,000.00 per year
