While our head office is based in North East England, this is a hybrid role with flexibility to work across the UK. The final location will be agreed with the successful candidate.

Sales Manager - Freight Forwarding
Purpose
You will play a pivotal role in driving business growth by identifying new opportunities and nurturing existing client relationships. This position requires a proactive approach to understanding customer needs and delivering tailored logistics solutions across air, sea, and road freight services.
You will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans, negotiating competitive rates, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the shipping process. The role demands strong communication and networking skills, as well as the ability to collaborate with internal teams--such as operations and pricing--to provide seamless service.
Success in this role means not only meeting revenue targets but also building long-term partnerships that enhance the company's reputation in the global supply chain market.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement sales strategies to meet revenue targets.
Identify and convert new business opportunities in freight forwarding.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
Conduct market research to identify trends and competitive positioning.
Collaborate with operations to ensure seamless service delivery.
Prepare and deliver client proposals and presentations.
Track sales performance metrics and adapt tactics.
Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or similar.
Minimum of five years in sales within freight forwarding or logistics, with a proven track record.
Strong understanding of freight markets, excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Essential Skills:
Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems (Salesforce or equivalent).
Market research and competitive analysis.
Negotiation and presentation capabilities.
Knowledge of logistics, supply chain, and Microsoft Office Suite.
