Job Description

Reporting to the Executive Director of Sales, the Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue across Insurance Insider's event portfolio by selling sponsorship packages and delegate passes for our conferences, as well as securing submissions and table sales for our awards programs.



Key responsibilities include researching and building prospect lists, reaching out to potential clients via phone and email, and effectively pitching the value and benefits of participating in our events. The Sales Manager will engage with senior executives daily, ensuring a professional, positive, and consultative sales experience from start to finish.



Insurance Insider produces a range of high-profile B2B events serving the (re)insurance industry in the UK, US, and other international markets. Reporting to the Executive Director of EMS (Events and Marketing Services) Sales, this role will primarily focus on three flagship business conferences and three major awards ceremonies that take place in the US and UK.



In addition to a competitive base salary, this position offers commission opportunities tied to achieving event-specific financial targets.

Achieve delegate sales revenue targets for each event. Clearly communicate the benefits, value proposition, and agenda to prospective attendees. Understand the key motivations for attendance and develop a compelling, benefits-led sales pitch to drive conversions. Guide potential attendees through the booking process and ensure completion of their event pass purchase via the online registration page. Negotiate pricing and offer appropriate discounts when applicable, such as for group bookings.

Drive participation in Insurance Insider's awards programs by promoting the value of recognition and encouraging high-quality submissions from insurance businesses, their teams, and their projects. Work collaboratively with the editorial, marketing, and events teams to identify and build targeted contact lists for outreach to encourage submissions. Assist participants with their queries on awards categories and criteria. Communicate the prestige of the awards, the calibre of the judging panel, and the simplicity of the entry process to create a positive and professional experience for all entrants. Build strong relationships with entrants during the submission stage to enhance their perception of the awards, ultimately supporting future sales opportunities. Once shortlists are announced, sell tables and individual seats for the awards gala dinners in London and New York. Guide clients through the online table purchasing process and ensure timely completion of their table or seat bookings with the expectation of encouraging bookers to go for tables over seats.

ponsorship

Sales (New Business)




Develop and close new sponsorship deals with businesses not currently engaged in Insurance Insider's events and marketing services (focus on new logos). Prospect for new sponsorship opportunities in collaboration with the sales and marketing team, building and qualifying a strong pipeline of potential clients. Create and execute tailored outreach strategies targeting different segments of the market across the US and UK. Clearly communicate the value proposition of sponsorship, present available packages, negotiate terms, and close contracts with prospective partners. Attend select industry events in the UK and US to meet potential sponsors and strengthen relationships, in addition to conducting outreach via calls, emails, and virtual or in-person meetings. Support the continued growth of the sponsorship portfolio, contributing to the overall commercial success of Insurance Insider's event business. Share prospect and customer feedback with the events team to help improve offerings and ensure alignment with market needs. Track and administer the sales process within Sales Force



Required Qualifications




Minimum of A-Level standard education or equivalent qualification Minimum of 2 years' experience in similar or related role in telesales, delegates sales, telemarketing of B2B events Outgoing, personable and an ability to communicate a message clearly, concisely and in a friendly business manner via email, phone, and in-person.



Desirable Experience/ Qualifications




Experience with corporate awards programmes and event delegate sales is preferred Experience working in the
B2B financial services sector is a plus
Experience of Salesforce or similar CRM



Working Conditions




Office hours are

9am to 5.30pm with flexibility where needed

| Hybrid 2 days in the office per week

Smart casual when not client faces, business attire when client facing * Able to travel several times a year to the US, mainly to attend our events in New York City but other cities in the US may be required as well as very occasional travel to Europe
