We're now looking for a
Sales Manager (North of England)
to join our team.
This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate and offers the chance to learn about Burlington's unique natural building materials, which are of the highest quality and highly respected in the industry and play a significant role in the future of the organisation with scope for career progression. The role is based predominantly in the south of Cumbria and the Lake District, travelling throughout the north of England, and it offers the opportunity for someone to relocate to this beautiful part of the UK, or for those already based here to be part of one of the key industries in the area.

Key Responsibilities
Responsible for the revenue and margin performance of the sales territory.
Build and maintain a specifier network in the territory to generate single project and repeat specifications in order to achieve the revenue and margin goals.
Build and maintain contractor, sub-contractor, partner and merchant relationships that protect specifications and generate non-specification sales.
Build client relationships that protect specifications and generate non-specification sales.
React to/capitalise on open or non-specification opportunities through client, contractor, sub-contractor and merchant relationships.
Collaborate with the other members of the external sales team, the internal sales team and production and quarry colleagues to deliver on the supply of Burlington materials to meet the specification and non-specification orders achieved.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Degree level qualification is desirable but not essential.
Knowledge of the slate and stone industry is beneficial but not essential.
An understanding of the specification process is desirable.
Effective communication skills and the ability to deliver CPD presentations to
A willingness and capability to learn the technical aspects of natural slate and stone production and application.
An understanding of the sales process.
An ability to read architects' drawings, shop drawings, cutting sheets etc.
An awareness of 3D CAD would be useful but not essential.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office.
Effective organisational skills.
Ability and willingness to work flexible working hours.
A systematic approach and good attention to detail.
A capacity for hard work, with a cheerful approach and a 'can do' attitude
A professional, friendly and enthusiastic approach to all aspects of the supply of Burlington slate and stone materials, from initial specification, through to delivery and installation and the willingness to go the extra mile in delivering the highest quality of customer service through the whole sales process.
