Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced
Sales Manager
to join our growing
commercial soft landscaping company
. In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales, managing client relationships, and securing new business. You will actively participate in site meetings across the M25, South East, and London, working closely with the Managing Director to achieve company sales goals. The role is primarily office-based in Bexhill, with frequent travel for site meetings and client engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Generation:
Drive new business opportunities, negotiating to secure the work and meeting targets set within. ensuring the company meets and exceeds sales targets within the commercial soft landscaping sector.
Client Relationship Management:
Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients, providing excellent customer service and understanding their landscaping needs.
Site Meetings:
Attend site meetings and Pre Award meetings to negotiate priced work across the M25, South East, and London to meet with potential clients, understand their requirements, and present tailored solutions.
Sales Strategy:
Work closely with the Managing Director to create and implement sales strategies to expand market share and enhance revenue growth.
Proposal and Tender Management:
Close communication with the estimating department to ensure our tenders are accurate and reporting anything that needs to be revised.
Sales Reporting:
Regularly report sales performance and market insights to the Managing Director, tracking key performance indicators and progress toward sales goals. Fully report back from phone calls and sales meeting to keep the whole team fully advised on progress.
Market Research:
Keep informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to identify new business opportunities and stay competitive.
Collaboration:
Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., estimating, operations) to ensure smooth transitions from sales to project execution.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Sales Manager or in a senior sales role, ideally within the commercial landscaping or a related construction/soft landscaping industry.
Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to build rapport and close sales with clients.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet sales targets and deadlines.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and site visits simultaneously.
Comfortable attending site meetings and traveling to locations across the M25, South East, and London which may result in overnight stays.
Full UK driving license is essential for travel to sites and client meetings.
Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and sales reporting tools.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in
commercial soft landscaping
or related fields, with a solid understanding of landscaping services and project requirements.
A degree or qualification in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline is advantageous.
Established network of contacts within the landscaping or construction sectors is a plus.
