We work across brand communications, editorial and events - delivering impactful campaigns and commercial opportunities for clients across the construction and building technologies sectors.

We're looking for a driven and commercially minded

Sales Manager

to join our team in Shrewsbury. This is a key revenue-generating role focused on selling

conference exhibition stands, awards sponsorship and advertising opportunities

across print, digital and live events.

You'll play a central role in identifying prospects, developing relationships, pitching commercial opportunities and closing deals. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a phone-heavy, target-driven environment and enjoys selling within a fast-moving B2B setting.

About the Role



As a Sales Manager, you'll be responsible for driving commercial growth across our portfolio of B2B brands, events and media platforms. Your primary focus will be securing

exhibition sales, conference and awards sponsorship

, and

advertising bookings

from both new and existing clients.

You will manage the full sales cycle - from research and outreach to pitching, negotiation and closing - while maintaining strong relationships with decision-makers across the built environment sector. You'll also play an important role in gathering market intelligence, identifying new revenue opportunities and supporting the ongoing development of our commercial offering.

While the role is predominantly telephone-based, you will also attend selected industry events and conferences to network, support delivery and strengthen client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:



Identify and research potential clients, key decision makers and relevant commercial opportunities. Proactively prospect for new business to build a strong and sustainable sales pipeline. Sell exhibition stands, conference sponsorships, awards sponsorships and advertising across print and digital channels. Plan and deliver effective sales approaches and pitches tailored to each client's needs and objectives. Handle objections confidently, negotiate effectively and close deals to meet weekly and monthly sales targets. Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients in the built environment and construction sectors. Develop a deep understanding of client goals to support long-term partnerships and repeat bookings. Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure client expectations are clearly briefed and delivered. Attend industry events, exhibitions and conferences as required to support our commercial presence. Gather and share feedback on industry trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities. Ensure all client data, activity records and pipeline information are accurately maintained within the CRM. Support the production of sales forecasts, pipeline updates and weekly/monthly revenue reports. Uphold high standards of data quality, ensuring accuracy across all commercial documentation.

Experience & Skills



Proven experience in a sales or business development role (media or events sales desirable). Confident communicator with excellent telephone manner, persuasion skills and rapport-building ability. Highly organised and motivated, with the ability to work efficiently under pressure and to deadlines. Comfortable using CRM systems and general office software (training provided where needed). Strong understanding of the importance of data accuracy and record management. Positive, proactive and commercially focused attitude.
