Prolec is seeking an experienced and driven Sales Manager to lead our sales efforts in transforming construction safety and efficiency. This role requires a dynamic individual who can manage a sales team, develop strategic sales plans, and cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders in the construction, civil engineering, and plant hire industries. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in achieving sales targets, particularly within technical or heavy industry sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies aligned with Prolec's goals for market growth in construction safety and efficiency technologies.
Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of sales professionals to achieve and exceed individual and team sales targets.
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide continuous coaching and training on product knowledge, sales techniques, and market trends.
Forecast annual, quarterly, and monthly sales revenue accurately, and proactively adjust strategies as needed.
Identify, target, and acquire new major accounts (e.g., large construction firms, national plant hire companies, infrastructure projects).
Cultivate and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships with key decision-makers.
Represent Prolec at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote brand awareness and generate leads.
Work closely with the Managing Director to negotiate and close high value contracts, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
Maintain a deep understanding of Prolec's product portfolio, which focuses on machine control, weighing, and safety systems for construction equipment.
Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes in construction safety and efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of sales experience, with at least 2 years in a sales leadership/management role.
Demonstrated success in selling technical products or solutions into the construction, heavy equipment, or industrial sectors.
Exceptional presentation, negotiation, and communication skills (written and verbal).
Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
Willingness to travel frequently (local and international) as required.
Preferred
Experience with machine control systems or construction safety technology.
A strong network of contacts within the UK and/or global construction industry.
