To provide support to sales and marketing activity for Plant Lipids to ensure the continued service and growth of sales.
Through training, development and ongoing experience, to manage sales activity and account management including driving sales growth, responding to all enquiries and sales leads, maintaining records of all activity within the business systems and to actively develop new business. In addition, the job holder will support the company's marketing activity to promote the business externally.
These are the main aspects of the role and will evolve depending on a willingness and ability to learn and take on responsibility. The job holder will be provided with the necessary learning tools in order to develop the skills necessary to fulfil these responsibilities.
Maintain and drive sales in terms of revenue and margin for existing accounts, as well as business develop new accounts from initial contact to becoming a customer.
Maintain regular communications with customers, including team meetings / phones calls in order to provide successful account management.
On occasions visit customers to explore further business opportunities.
Maintain the customer database, files, quote book and customer activity to ensure this is up to date.
Respond to general phone calls and emails with customers and suppliers.
Generate new sales leads and manage the customer approval process.
Provide monthly update on sales activity and on the progress of sales projects for both new and existing customers
Work through target and opportunity lists to develop new leads for the business.
Support all marketing activity and generate marketing material to help promote the business.
Support organising exhibitions and attending them both in the UK and in Europe.
Become proficient in the understanding of product specifications across all the business, in order to recommend suitable matching products.
Provide cover for all the procedures for the samples process in order to cover this area.
Become familiar with food products and applications in order make product recommendations.
To manage a customer development project from start to finish and support the customer through this.
