The Agile story

We're Agile, an award-winning marketing, events and branding agency in the publishing, sports and cultural sectors. We are committed to bringing stories to life, with a niche for running marketing campaigns and prizes in the cultural and sporting sectors. For a small team, we make a big impact and are adding new projects to our portfolio all the time. We currently run or manage The An Post Irish Book Awards, The Carnegies, The Golf Course Awards, The Charles Tyrwhitt Sports Book Awards & The Wainwright Prize, and are retained by many more cultural organisations in the UK & Internationally. We also have a stand-alone branding proposition, with ambitious growth targets for the coming year.

Founded in 2004, we are a young and vibrant creative agency, with ambitious growth plans. We have recently broadened our proposition at home and abroad, taking on several new projects. The next 12 months are especially important, with several of our recurring projects seeking sponsorship, and plans being drawn up for a couple of brand-new international prize programmes.

We are looking for an ambitious Sales & Marketing Manager to support the growth of the agency at a pivotal time. The successful candidate will lead sponsorship and business development conversations, and will be responsible for the strategic direction of Agile's marketing campaigns, ensuring the KPI's are met and exceeded at all times.

The all important role

We are recruiting for a Sales & Marketing Manager, to take on dual responsibility for securing sponsorship and new business opportunities, as well as developing and executing marketing strategies that drive brand awareness, client engagement and business growth. This role requires a target-driven candidate with a commercial mindset and will involve taking ownership of the agency's sales and marketing strategies.

The Sales & Marketing Manager will work closely with the Managing Director on all areas of sales, sponsorship, and business development, while collaborating with creative and project leads to ensure marketing activity reflects the agency's vision and client priorities. The role combines strategic planning with hands-on execution--using data and performance insights to refine approaches, drive visibility, secure new business and strengthen existing client relationships. Success will primarily be measured by delivering against sales targets and marketing metrics, such as increases in consumer reach and engagement across key projects.

What you'll be doing:

? Leading sponsorship sales across Agile's portfolio of cultural, sports, and publishing projects -- from prospecting and outreach to negotiation and closing deals

? Driving new business development by identifying opportunities, building pipelines, and developing lasting client and partner relationships

? Developing and executing marketing strategies that grow visibility, attract leads, and support sponsorship and event ticket sales

? Management of the digital team, ensuring web & social campaigns deliver against KPIs.

? Creating compelling sales and marketing collateral -- proposals, pitch decks, case studies, and campaign reports

? Tracking and reporting on sales and marketing performance, using data insights to refine strategies

? Supporting our Project Director in planning and delivering high quality events

? Organising, promoting and delivering marketing content for clients & sponsors

? Developing media buying plans, to include SEO strategy, PPC ad campaigns etc.

? Identify mutually-beneficial media partnerships to boost each campaigns reach, engagement and credibility

? Manage sponsor relationships, liaising with brand agencies to support and enhance sponsors activation plans

? Identify social collaborations and gifting partnerships for Agile's roster of events.

? Working closely with project and creative leads to align campaigns with client priorities and Agile's brand positioning

? Representing Agile at networking events, client meetings, and industry conferences.

? Monitoring market trends and competitor activity to stay ahead of opportunities in the cultural, publishing, and sports sectors

? Playing an active role in shaping Agile's growth, helping the team reach ambitious commercial and creative goals

What we can offer you:

? Competitive compensation (DoE)

? 23 days annual leave per calendar year, in addition to all UK Bank Holidays off, with an extra day off for your birthday!

? 1 optional day of Paid Volunteer Leave per calendar year

? Flexible working hours - the opportunity to set your own working start/finish times within the core business hours.

? Enrolment into the company health insurance policy with AXA Health, which includes a 24/7 online GP service, cashback on dental/optician appointments, physio appointments, an Employee Assistance Program, discounts on specific gym memberships and more.

? Free Membership to an on-site gym at the companies offices

? A range of discounts and deals with your own "Perks at Work" account, accessed through our company HR software

? Opportunity to earn e-gift cards (through our employee recognition program), that can be used at hundreds of UK retailers!

? Up to 10 days of company sick pay per calendar year

? As a growing business, we are always finding ourselves in new, exciting environments. We've recently interviewed a bestselling author in Delhi, dined with sporting superstars, executive-produced a prime-time TV show, and orchestrated a special audition with Simon Cowell on BGT...

? Back-stage access at Star-studded award ceremonies in London, Dublin, New York etc.

? Alongside the social perks of the job, we are incredibly serious about our staff's professional development and provide opportunities for online and in-person development courses.

? Stunning grounds around the office on the outskirts of Bath, including access to on-site outdoor swimming club, sauna and award-winning cafe.

? Flexible working hours - freedom to choose regular working hours, within reason

? Chance to play at some of the world's best golf courses...and of course lots of FREE books!!!

What you need to bring with you:

? 3-5 years' experience in a sales role, with strategic and creative responsibilities

? Strong marketing experience, with the ability to plan and deliver campaigns that drive measurable results.

? A proactive, entrepreneurial approach -- motivated by hitting targets and growing opportunities.

? Confidence in managing the full sales cycle: from prospecting and pitching through to negotiation and closing.

? Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to tell compelling stories and build relationships at all levels.

? Data-driven mindset -- comfortable using insights and analytics to track performance and optimise strategies.

? Experience managing and mentoring junior team members.

? Strong organisational skills, able to juggle multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

? Creativity, curiosity, and a genuine interest in reading, sport & culture is desirable.

? Resilience, adaptability, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves in a small but ambitious team.

? A growth mindset - able to identify improvements in marketing output and devise solutions that benefit clients and support new business growth

? A strategic outlook, with the ability to unlock new business opportunities, and a desire to grow the Marketing team's importance to the agency's success.

? A confident, positive, outgoing personality, who enjoys motivating others and working in a close-knit team

? Experience using Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint essential for project management and data tracking / reporting

? Ideally basic proficiency using Adobe Creative Suite, but not essential

? Knowledge of email marketing tools, such as Mailchimp and Campaign Monitor

? Experience with Content Management Systems, including familiarity with WordPress or Squarespace desirable

? Experience using the collaborative tools within Google Drive

? A love of books & sport helps, it's important you believe in the value of our projects (we're not expecting you to have read the Booker shortlist or competed in the Olympics, but you'd ideally have heard of at least one of Sally Rooney & Rory McIlroy!)

? With the Golf Course Awards as one of our key projects, an interest in watching or playing Golf would be a major boon, although not at all essential...

? Undergraduate Degree desirable, but not essential

? As a small team, we all muck in at our live events, so experience working in this environment is great...but only a positive collaborative attitude is essential!

? Willing & able to work the occasional late evening for prize ceremonies and dinners in the UK & Internationally
