As a key member of the Myers Group Team the primary aim of this role is to support the Group Commercial Manager in achieving sales targets, plus aspects of commercial performance and sales strategy. In doing so, this position plays a vital role in achieving sales budgets and profit growth.

Duties & Responsibilities
Contribute to the delivery of the MBTS sales and margin targets whilst maintaining a value proposition for the customer.
Participate in, contribute to, or under guidance of Group Commercial Manager lead sales related meetings to assist with;
: Growth, development, support and accountability of Myers Building and Timber Supplies BDM pool in a sales capacity.
: Improvement of underperforming branches by working towards a strategic framework plan centered around budget achievement.
: Growth (stretching) of branches that are identified as having the infrastructure and customer base to outperform annualised targets with focused support.
Assume additional levels of appropriate responsibility for the sales & commercial performance for the MBTS division under guidance of Group Commercial Manager.
Maintain direct relationships with all MBTS branches utilizing their extensive customer base to support opportunities.
Alongside the Group Commercial Manager undertake responsibility for actions inclusive of (but not limited to) (a) identifying new opportunities to win new customers, (b) converting speculative customers to new business.
Ensure customers receive the correct levels of engagement and service and thereby sustain customer satisfaction and loyalty inclusive of completing quotations and tenders.
Use your skills gained from your previous role to best effect by visiting construction sites, places of work etc. to actively engage with customers face to face to determine their needs and build relationships when required.
Assist with customer retention loyalty scheme implementation and ongoing management.
Assist with management of BDM pool to ensure accountability for sales activity is at optimum levels. This includes but is not limited to, monthly call sheet review analysis and external visitations with them when required.
Investigate planning opportunities ensuring findings are shared amongst team members, to encourage a culture of pipeline and forward thinking for sales opportunities.
Contribute to a proactive culture of H&S, ensuring everyone in the team complies with the Company HSE policies and procedures.
Attend meetings and group discussions where required.
Any other reasonable duties which may be required by the Company from time to time, as instructed by or under the direction of your line manager.
Skills & Attributes
Committed employee with a sales background who accepts responsibility and accountability.
An in depth understanding of the construction industry with Builders Merchant experience at either Branch Manager, External Sales Representative, Business Development or Contracts Office level.
Ability to work under pressure and to tight schedules.
Ability to support colleagues.
Ability to plan and distribute workloads for self and others.
Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Must be self-motivated and have strong interpersonal skills.
