Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and driven Sales Team Leader to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing sales team within our busy cruise reservations department. This is an exciting opportunity for a strong sales professional with a passion for cruising and proven leadership skills.

This position operates on a two-week revolving shift pattern, working weekdays between 08:15 and 20:00, with reduced hours at weekends.

Job Summary



The Sales Team Leader supports the Head of Sales in driving revenue growth and managing the sales team. This role plays a key part in overseeing sales activity, improving team performance, strengthening client relationships, and ensuring sales targets are consistently met or exceeded.

Key Responsibilities for the Cruise Sales Team Leader



Lead, motivate and coach a team of Cruise Sales Consultants to maximise every sales opportunity on inbound calls (no cold calling required) Drive personal and team performance against key KPIs including call volume, sales conversion, revenue, and financial factors in line with company targets Lead by example through personal sales performance, delivering exceptional customer service and strong conversion results Support and encourage the team to sell added-value products and upgrades to enhance customer experience and overall revenue Monitor individual and team performance, providing regular coaching, feedback, and development support Ensure accurate input of bookings into the in-house system and partner booking platforms, maintaining high compliance and data accuracy Act as a point of support for complex bookings and customer queries Maintain high levels of product knowledge across the team through coaching, team briefings, marketing updates, and ongoing training Ensure client information, booking amendments, and professional notes are accurately maintained at all times Provide effective solutions to customer sales enquiries relating to cruise products and services Assist and report to the Sales Head of Department (HOD), supporting strategic initiatives, departmental projects and overall sales objectives

Required Skills and Experience



Minimum 3 years' experience within a travel agency sales environment (cruise sales experience preferred) Previous experience in a team leader or mentoring role is advantageous Strong and confident telephone manner with excellent communication skills The ability to commute to Colchester, Essex
