Purpose


The Internal Sales Team Leader at Avena Group will lead, coach, and develop the Internal Sales Executives (ISE) team, driving performance and ensuring the team meets and exceeds sales targets.
This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of sales strategy, and the ability to motivate and guide a team towards delivering business growth through relationship building and strategic sales execution.

Key Responsibilities



Leadership & Team Development:

Lead a team of Internal Sales Executives, providing coaching, mentoring, and support to maximise individual and team performance. Conduct regular 1-to-1 meetings to review performance, set objectives, and identify areas for development.

Sales Strategy Execution:

Implement and drive the execution of the overall internal sales strategy, ensuring alignment with Avena Group's business goals. Monitor performance against KPIs and sales targets, providing real-time feedback and strategy adjustments as needed.

Sales Performance Monitoring:

Regularly track sales metrics such as new business generation, customer acquisition, and contract value. Analyse team data and provide insights to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.

Training & Development:

Oversee the continuous development of the team through formal and informal training on sales techniques, product knowledge, and market trends. Ensure the team is equipped with the necessary skills to meet evolving business demands.

Problem Solving & Decision Making:

Address escalated issues from team members regarding customer enquiries, contracts, or service issues, ensuring timely and efficient resolution.

Client Relationship Management:

Support the team in maintaining and building long-term client relationships, ensuring the delivery of high-quality service and solutions to clients. Assist with high-profile or strategic sales opportunities when necessary.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with other departments, including Customer Service and National Accounts teams, to ensure seamless transitions from sales to service delivery.

Sales Reporting:

Provide accurate sales forecasts and regular performance reports to senior management, highlighting successes, challenges, and strategic recommendations.

Skills/Attributes Required



Leadership:

Proven experience in managing and developing a team, with the ability to inspire and drive high performance.

Sales Expertise:

Strong background in B2B sales, with a deep understanding of sales processes, relationship building, and business development.

Communication:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate strategies and motivate team members.

Strategic Thinking:

Ability to develop and implement sales strategies aligned with company objectives, identifying key opportunities for growth.

Adaptability:

Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to adapt to changing market conditions and business priorities.

Problem-Solving:

Strong analytical skills, with the ability to address challenges and implement solutions efficiently.

Results-Oriented:

A focus on driving measurable results, ensuring team performance meets or exceeds expectations.

Education/Experience Required



Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a sales leadership role, preferably in an internal or business-to-business sales environment. Demonstrated track record of leading teams to achieve sales targets. Performance Objectives



Achieve team-wide sales targets, including the generation of new business and the renewal of existing contracts. Ensure the team generates required level of new, contractual business annually, with each team member contributing a minimum of 150,000 per annum. Maintain and improve individual and team KPIs, such as meeting booking, proposal generation, and conversion rates.
