Sales Team Leader



Reports to: Managing Director

Location: Riverside Works, Church Ln, Etchingham TN19 7AS

The Role



You'll take full ownership of the day-to-day running of the sales team. Your job is to make sure the sales function is disciplined, predictable, and performing exactly as expected. This means enforcing process, maintaining an accurate pipeline, driving consistent activity, and developing the team so results are repeatable and reliable.

You are not responsible for sales strategy, pricing, budgets, or key accounts. Your role is to run the sales floor, drive the right behaviours, and ensure every salesperson follows the agreed process so the wider business can plan with confidence.

What You'll Do



Run the Sales Team Day to Day Lead daily sales activity, ensuring consistent effort, accurate CRM updates, and disciplined execution. Hold weekly KPI reviews and monthly 1-to-1s focused on performance, behaviours, and pipeline quality. Coach salespeople on sales process, messaging, presentation quality, and opportunity progression. Maintain a high-performance environment with clear expectations and consequences for poor performance.

Control the Pipeline & Forecast



Own the accuracy of the sales pipeline across the team. Ensure all opportunities are updated daily with correct stage, value, probability, and close date. Enforce strict forecasting discipline so operations and production can plan confidently. Identify risks, gaps, and stalled opportunities early and escalate where required.

Execute the Sales Plan



Translate the sales plan set by senior leadership into clear weekly and monthly activity targets. Adjust workloads, lead allocation, and team focus to meet operational needs. Define the competencies required for future sales hires and create draft job descriptions aligned to the plan.

Manage Leads & Follow-Up



Monitor lead volumes, quality, and alignment to target sectors. Ensure all leads are followed up within agreed timescales and progressed correctly through the pipeline. Flag issues immediately where lead quality or volume is insufficient or misaligned.

Work Closely with Other Teams



Communicate customer events, surveys, and meetings to marketing to support campaigns and content. Work with operations and estimating to ensure quoting processes and project details are followed correctly. Provide clear, structured updates to senior management on pipeline health, risks, and performance.

Maintain Standards & Accountability



Ensure consistent use of approved sales materials and messaging. Always enforce CRM discipline and data accuracy. Lead by example and reinforce Rapid Ramp's core values through behaviour and standards.

About You



Must Haves



Proven experience leading or coaching salespeople in a structured, KPI-driven environment. Strong understanding of long-cycle, project-based sales. Confident holding people accountable and enforcing standards. Highly organised with strong attention to detail in CRM, forecasting, and reporting. Direct, structured coach who improves performance through clarity and consistency. Comfortable challenging poor behaviours and correcting issues early.

Nice to Have



Experience in construction, manufacturing, or project-led businesses. Experience working closely with operations and estimating teams. Familiarity with HubSpot or similar CRM systems. Experience helping define sales roles, competencies, or onboarding frameworks.

Sales pipeline is always accurate and up to date. Forecasts can be relied on by operations and leadership. Leads are followed up and progressed within agreed timescales.
