We use a whole range of non-destructive and destructive testing methods, both on site and at our labs.

What will you be doing?

As a

Salt Spray Technician

for BES Testing to join our team at our laboratory based in Wednesbury, Sandwell.



As a Salt Spray Technician, you will:


Preparing and mounting test samples according to specified standards. Setting up and operating salt spray chambers to simulate a corrosive environment. Monitoring test conditions, such as temperature, humidity, and salt spray concentration, throughout the testing period. Regularly observing and documenting the appearance of corrosion on the samples. Analysing the test results to assess the material's resistance to corrosion. Preparing reports that document the testing procedures, results, and analysis. Performing routine maintenance on the salt spray chamber, such as cleaning and inspecting it after each testing period.

To be join our team, you will need:

Education to HNC standard or significant work experience in this area Knowledge of the recognised industry standards for Salt Spray Testing, including ASTM B117 and ISO 9227 Competence of test procedures in accordance with the documented management system Strong analytical skills Verbal and written communication skills
