Cheshire Scientific is a UKAS accredited laboratory at the forefront of testing services across a wide range of industries in the UK and internationally. With our business experiencing significant growth, we are seeking an enthusiastic and flexible individual to join our dynamic sample reception team.
About the Role:
As a vital member of our busy laboratory, you will be the first point of contact for all incoming samples, playing a key role in ensuring the smooth and accurate intake process that supports our high-quality testing procedures. Attention to detail is essential, as the booking-in phase is the first step in a complex, highly-skilled process that guarantees our clients receive timely and reliable results.
Key Responsibilities:
Sample Logging:
Accurately log incoming samples using bespoke Laboratory Management System (LIMS) software, ensuring all necessary details are captured for processing.
Test Allocation:
Assign the appropriate tests to samples and route them efficiently through the lab for analysis.
Collaboration:
Liaise with lab technicians and other team members to ensure seamless communication and sample flow.
Client Focus:
Handle inquiries with professionalism and efficiency, representing Cheshire Scientific's commitment to quality service.
Work Schedule:
The position is for 30 hours per week.
Monday-Friday, with Saturday cover when needed. Hours to be discussed.
Skills & Qualifications:
Attention to Detail:
Accuracy is crucial in sample logging and allocation to prevent errors and ensure client satisfaction.
Tech-Savvy:
Experience with Word and Excel is advantageous, but full training on our LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) software will be provided.
Adaptability:
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
Team Player:
A positive and proactive attitude with a willingness to assist colleagues as needed.
Interviews will commence W/C 5th January 2026.
