Job Description

We seek an excellent communicator with a sound understanding of the issues faced by individuals with forced migration


The Sanctuary Officer will report to and work closely with the Director of the Global Office to manage and develop the University's Sanctuary status. The role will encompass work with Schools and Units across the University to ensure a joined up, supportive and inclusive experience for students with forced migration



The candidate we are looking for will be able to work closely with a variety of stakeholders internally and externally, and be committed to ensuring that St Andrews can maintain and develop its reputation as a University of Sanctuary.


You will work with a close knit and collegiate team in the Global Office, contributing also to wider Global Office projects and initiatives in support of University Strategy. You will need to be able to work with colleagues and committees across the University ensuring that projects are developed within policy and regulatory frameworks.


This is a fixed term post for two years in the first instance. The role is part-time (14.5 hours per week) with working patterns to be agreed with the line manager at the outset.
