Job Description
We're a small, independent sandwich shop looking for an experienced and motivated team member to take on a hands-on role within the business. This position combines baking, food preparation, and customer service, with real involvement in the day-to-day running of the shop.
About the role:
Full-time or part-time hours available
Shifts between
7am-4pm
A varied role covering both kitchen prep and front-of-houseResponsibilities include:
Making and baking bread Preparing fillings and food for daily service Sandwich making and bread slicing, including use of a deli slicer Preparing hot drinks using an espresso machine Serving customers and taking payments Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety Assisting with stock takes and ordering (once trained) General shop upkeep
What we're looking for:
Strong experience in food preparation and handling Baking experience or a genuine interest in baking from scratch Comfortable using kitchen equipment, including a deli slicer Coffee-making and customer service experience preferred Good knowledge of food safety practices Food hygiene and/or barista training certificates are an advantage Organised, reliable, and able to work independently A flair for flavour combinations and a genuine love of sandwiches Happy to take ownership in a small, fast-paced environment
