We opened the Ark Open Farm in 1990 and since then it has grown in size and popularity to become one of County Down's favourite family attractions. Set in forty acres of unspoiled countryside the Farm is home to approximately two hundred animals of all kinds. With a wide variety of family-friendly activities on site including tractor-trailer rides, quad barrel rides, jumping pillows and play areas, as well as a series of brilliant seasonal events.

The Ark Open Farm is unique, being the only one of its kind specialising in animals no longer seen in Northern Ireland's fields and the only farm staying open all year round.

Santa Claus - Seasonal - Nov to Dec - from 18 per hour depending on on experience - various hours available, from 10 per week

We are seeking an enthusiastic and magical Santa to bring joy and wonder to families visiting our Christmas Experience. You will be the heart of our festive celebrations, creating memorable moments for children and adults alike in our enchanting farm setting.

This role would ideally suit someone with previous entertainment or performance experience, who has a love for entertaining others, is welcoming, caring and patient.

Key responsibilities

Greet families warmly and maintain character as Santa throughout interactions Listen to children's Christmas wishes and engage in magical conversations Remember a few small bits of information provided in advance by families to add to the magic Pose for photographs with families in Santa's Grotto Support other Christmas activities and experiences as needed Manage visit timings smoothly while maintaining the magical experience - ensuring each family feels unhurried while keeping to schedule

Essential skills and experience

Natural ability to connect with children of all ages Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Patience and warmth Ability to stay in character for extended periods Reliable and punctual with strong work ethic Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain)

Desirable

Previous experience as Santa or working with children Performance or entertainment background Own transport due to rural location
