The

AS Advocate will play a pivotal role in supporting the professional development, wellbeing, and representation of SAS doctors within the organisation. This role is designed to ensure that SAS doctors are empowered, valued, and have access to the same opportunities for career progression, leadership, and support as their consultant and trainee colleagues.
The SAS Advocate will act as a key liaison between SAS doctors and senior leadership, promoting inclusion, equity, and engagement across the medical workforce. They will work collaboratively with medical staffing, education teams, and clinical directors to identify and address the unique needs of SAS doctors, fostering a culture of respect, recognition, and continuous improvement.
Main duties of the job
The primary responsibility of the SAS Advocate will be to:
Advocacy & Representation
: Serve as a voice for SAS doctors in strategic discussions, ensuring their perspectives and concerns are heard and addressed.
Career Development
: Support SAS doctors in accessing development opportunities, including CESR pathways, leadership training, and educational resources.
Wellbeing & Support
: Promote wellbeing initiatives and provide guidance on navigating workplace challenges, including access to mentoring and peer support.
Engagement & Communication
: Facilitate regular forums, feedback sessions, and communications to keep SAS doctors informed and involved.
Policy & Strategy
: Contribute to the development of policies and strategies that enhance the working lives of SAS doctors, aligned with national guidance and local priorities.
