Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Window Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of timber windows in various residential and commercial properties. This role requires a strong understanding of building structures and the ability to work with a variety of materials and tools. The successful applicant will demonstrate proficiency in both manual and technical skills, ensuring that all installations meet safety standards and client specifications.

Duties

Install, replace, and repair windows in accordance with industry standards and client requirements. Interpret schematics and technical drawings to ensure accurate fitting of windows. Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively for cutting, shaping, and assembling window frames. Fabricate timber window components as needed, ensuring precision in measurements and finishes. Conduct masonry work related to window installations, including plastering around frames for a clean finish. Collaborate with other tradespeople, including electricians for any electrical components associated with window fittings. Perform regular maintenance checks on installed windows to ensure functionality and durability. Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times while on-site.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Window Fitter or in a similar role within the construction industry. Strong skills in using hand tools and power tools Familiarity with masonry techniques is advantageous for effective installation processes. Ability to read and interpret technical schematics accurately. Knowledge of roofing structures may be beneficial when fitting windows in upper levels or loft spaces. Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
