We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Kitchen Cook to oversee culinary operations within our establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for food preparation, and extensive experience in a kitchen environment. This role involves ensuring high standards of food safety and quality, and maintaining efficient kitchen workflows. This will play a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences and supporting the overall success of our family run coffee shop.
Duties
Supervise and coordinate daily kitchen activities, ensuring smooth operation during service hours
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, maintaining consistency and quality standards
Assist with meal preparation and presentation, setting an example for the team
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment
Manage inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and minimise waste
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Monitor cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen area, adhering to health & safety policies
Support the development of new menu items in line with customer preferences and current trends
Barista experience preferred
Qualifications
Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within a restaurant setting
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in kitchen hygiene
Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership position within a kitchen environment
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Good understanding of meal preparation techniques and presentation standards
Excellent communication skills to effectively lead and motivate team
Excellent customer service as duties will also involve helping front of house duties
This role involves working every Saturday and also during half term holidays .
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: 12.21 per hour
