About the Role

Class 1 (C+E) Drivers

to join our professional team on the

Aldi contract based at Sawley Depot

.
You'll typically complete

2 to 3 store deliveries per shift

, delivering into Aldi stores using clean, well-maintained units and trailers.

Loading and unloading training will be provided

, and full support is given to ensure every driver meets Aldi's high operational standards.

Average shifts are

between 9 and 11 hours

, though they can occasionally run over if there are delays or complications.

Requirements

Valid

Class 1 (C+E) Licence

Valid

Driver CPC

and

Digital Tachograph Card

Minimum 2 years' Class 1 driving experience

No more than 6 penalty points

Professional, reliable, and safety-conscious attitude

Shift Patterns

Day Shifts:

10:00 or 12:00 starts

Afternoon Shifts:

16:00 or 20:00 starts

Night Shifts:

20:00 or 23:00 starts

2-3 store deliveries per shift

Average shift length:

9-11 hours (may exceed with complications) Overtime paid after 12.75 hours Operate refrigerated trailer safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. (training provided) Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring that all items are transported safely to their destination. Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required by company policies. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues. Follow all safety protocols to minimise risks while on the road and during loading/unloading processes.

Qualifications

Valid commercial driving licence (C+E) with a clean driving record. Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with flatbed lorry operations. Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving. Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading cargo. Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients and team members.
