Job Summary

Zebra EM is seeking a PLC & SCADA Engineer to support the design, delivery, and commissioning of industrial automation systems across renewable energy and process-industry sites.

This role is ideal for an engineer with hands-on experience in PLC programming and Ignition-based SCADA systems, who is keen to develop their skills while working on live operational plant. You will work closely with the Chief Technical Officer, subcontractors, and client teams to deliver reliable, well-engineered automation solutions.

Duties

Programming, testing, and fault-finding of PLC control systems for industrial processes Development, configuration, and deployment of Ignition-based SCADA systems Working with PLC platforms such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Mitsubishi Supporting integration of field devices, instrumentation, and plant equipment Supporting FAT, SAT, commissioning, and on-site installation activities Assisting with system upgrades, optimisation, and ongoing support Working alongside internal teams and subcontractors to deliver projects to scope Producing and maintaining clear technical documentation Providing technical support to clients during and after project delivery Regional and occasional international travel to client sites

Requirements

2-3 years' experience in PLC programming and/or SCADA systems Hands-on experience with Ignition SCADA (preferred) Experience with at least one PLC platform: Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Mitsubishi Basic understanding of industrial networks, control panels, and instrumentation Full, clean UK Driving Licence Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently while taking direction from senior engineers Minimum of A-Levels or Apprenticeship in Electrical, Automation, or Control Engineering (or equivalent experience)
