Starfish 9 Ltd is seeking a highly experienced and safety-focused Scaffold Manager to oversee all scaffolding operations across our construction sites. This is a critical leadership role responsible for managing scaffold teams, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and delivering scaffolding solutions that support project timelines and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate all scaffolding activities on-site, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
Supervise scaffolders and subcontractors, ensuring work is carried out to specification and within deadlines.
Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health & safety legislation and company policies.
Prepare and review scaffolding designs, risk assessments, and method statements.
Liaise with project managers, site teams, and clients to plan and deliver scaffolding requirements.
Maintain accurate records of scaffolding inspections, handovers, and alterations.
Ensure all scaffolding equipment is properly maintained, stored, and used in accordance with regulations.
Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement across all scaffolding operations.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
Proven experience in a Scaffold Manager or similar supervisory role.
CISRS Advanced Scaffolder or CISRS Scaffold Supervisor qualification.
Scaffold Inspection Qualification
PASMA qualification
IPAF qualification
In-depth knowledge of scaffolding systems (tube & fitting, system scaffolds), erection procedures, and dismantling techniques.
Strong understanding of current health & safety legislation.
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage scaffold teams effectively, ensuring productivity, compliance, and safety.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with clients, site teams, and subcontractors
.
Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Ability to read, interpret, and work from scaffolding drawings, specifications, and method statements.
Experience in conducting scaffold inspections and producing handover certificates.
Competence in maintaining accurate site records, reports, and documentation.
Desirable:
First Aid at Work certification.
SMSTS or SSSTS qualification.
Experience working on large-scale or high-risk construction, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
Familiarity with scaffold design software or digital inspection/reporting tools.
Knowledge of temporary works coordination and integration with other trades.
Full UK driving licence.
