Summary

We are seeking two dedicated Yard Operatives to join our team at our Shield Scaffolding Division. This role is essential for maintaining our yard operations and supporting various projects.

They will be responsible for ensuring correct maintenance of their Tachograph records, complete daily vehicle checks and operate Heavy Goods vehicles safely.

Responsibilities

Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the yard. Operate power and hand tools safely and effectively. Support fabrication and assembly tasks as needed. Perform basic maintenance on equipment and tools. Assist with loading and unloading materials for projects. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient yard operations. Follow safety protocols and guidelines at all times. Transporting goods and deliveries to their intended destinations on behalf of the Company Safely securing loads onto Heavy Goods Vehicles and ensuring the security of all haulage Supervising and assisting with the loading and unloading of goods or deliveries. Accurately recording Driving Hours, downloading Tachograph information and maintaining a good understanding of working time regulations ? Completing daily formal checks of any Heavy Goods Vehicle driven on behalf of the company Reporting Vehicle defects and accidents promptly to line management or transport coordinator Adhere to the company H&S policy and relevant vehicle driving policies

Requirements

Experience using power tools and hand tools is essential. Basic knowledge of fabrication processes is preferred. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills. Willingness to learn and take on new tasks as required.
