Are you looking for a stepping stone into support work? Whilst having flexibility & the choice of shifts to work around homelife? We are looking for passionate individuals to join our amazing Relief Team as a Scheme Support Officer in the Swansea, Neath and Bridgend area, ideally for wakeful nights (8pm-8am).

How it works



Flexibility - As a Relief worker you will not be obliged to commit to work a set number of hours a week.


You can work flexibly to suit you, selecting your own shifts from the shifts available.


New Opportunities - These positions are ideal for individuals with other commitments or someone who wants to try something new. It gives you the chance to feel you are making a difference on a daily basis. Your manager will offer shifts in your preferred location with as much notice as possible but you might be contacted on an ad-hoc basis when shift cover is needed. As such, the hours may not be guaranteed.


Development/Progression - You will be required to attend training courses and actively participate. Bespoke and blended learning opportunities will be available, but these sessions take place weekdays either online or at our main offices. Lone working may also apply in some of our services, but we provide all training required to successfully deliver the role and you will have access to a bespoke learning pathway with the support of an experienced Learning & Development team. You will be paid your hourly rate when undergoing training.


Before starting in the Relief role, you will be expected to complete all training -

Induction, eLearning & Classroom Sessions

. Once done, you will undertake

two shadow shifts

. Once completed, you will have access to book & arrange your own shifts.

Scheme/Services you will be covering in the Swansea, Neath and Bridgend area -

Cam Nesaf - 24-hour temporary housing support in the Swansea area for young people aged between 16 and 21 years old, providing advice and guidance on training, education and employment and supporting young people to develop independent living skills to enable them to move onto independent sustainable accommodation

Swansea Young Persons - temporary accommodation to young people age 16-24 who are experiencing homelessness. The service delivers intensive housing related supported to individuals who are ready to gain independence and a tenancy of their own.

The Kerrigan Project - provides support and accommodation for 9 people, aimed at people who have complex needs including a combination of substance misuse, offending and mental ill-health.

Llys Awen - 24-hour temporary supported accommodation in the Gorseinon area of Swansea for young people aged between 16 to 21 years old, enabling young people to achieve their goals and empower them to lead independent lives within a Psychologically Informed Environment

Clarewood - provides 8 spacious, self-contained flats for young people aged 16-25, helping young people who are homeless or threatened with homelessness to gain independence

Duties can include:



Engaging and interacting with the people we support. Supporting the client as directed by the team according to the support plan specifically tailored to each client. Wellbeing checks. Ensuring the building is secure including health & safety checks and maintaining an awareness of who is in the building. Reception duties. Dealing with challenging behaviours and responding to arising needs.
