Where will you be working?

You'll be joining our Highways maintenance team in Cambridgeshire, as the UK's number one highway maintenance contractor, our teams use the latest innovations to create effective solutions. We offer a range of services including planned and reactive maintenance and highway improvement schemes.

What will you be doing?




You'll manage small-medium construction schemes on site, including investigation works, taking responsibility for safe set-up, inducting supply chain partners and communicating and resolving issues with your Scheme Delivery Manager. You'll author and set up Construction Phase Plans and safe systems of work for checking & authorisation by the Scheme Delivery Manager. Are you organised? You'll maintain accurate site records for capturing progress, resources, plant and materials, relevant information associated with change control process, including daily site diaries, waste transfer monitoring, work permits and any other works activities/tasks required including as-built information. You'll coordinate and update programmes for schemes to ensure that work is carried out safely, on time, to budget and in accordance with the HSEQ standards required by M Group Highways. You'll be responsible for the organisation of labour, materials, equipment and subcontractor resources. Do you have strong communication skills? You'll liaise with other stakeholders as required to deliver schemes (CCC Client officers, MGroup teams), including the commercial team to support commercial performance of projects. You'll monitor supply chain RAMMS & ensure sub-contracting process is followed. You'll ensure in-house and subcontractors site personnel are competent and fully trained to undertake their work. You'll participate in Early Contractor Involvement & value engineering reviews into upcoming works, supporting the development of construction programmes, phasing plans and method statements. You'll ensure compliance with MGroup way of working and QSE processes, procedures, reporting and performance requirements.

What you'll bring




Do you have IOSH/ SMSTS? This is essential or this role. You'll need CSCS. Are you HNC or Degree Qualified? This is preferrable but not essential. You'll need a clean, full Driving licence.
