Location: Selby, North Yorkshire, Longman's Hill Community Primary School
The Governors are seeking to appoint a dedicated, enthusiastic, experienced, well-motivated and resourceful individual to join our office team within our thriving, popular school. The postholder will work every morning and two afternoons (Wednesdays and Fridays) in the school office and will be responsible for a number of administrative tasks including (but not limited to):
Ensuring school registers are complete on SIMS
Ensuring lunch menus are uploaded to school webiste and liaising with kitchen staff
Parent Pay system management and setting up of parent accounts & monitoring payments / chasing arrears
Organising and overseeing the grounds maintenance
General admin, e.g letters to parents
First Aid equipment check and medicines date check (First Aid at Work Training will need to be completed once post is secured)
Banking when appropriate
High levels of communications with parents, pupils and staff
Additionally the role involves being the Attendance Officer at the School responsible for:
Monitoring pupil attendance on SIMS
Contacting parents and offering support to improve pupil attendance
Working alongside the headteacher to improve overall school attendance
Where appropriate, handling penalty notice paperwork
We require someone who:
Will be committed, reliable and relish a challenge
Has excellent organisational and communication skills
Has a good level of literacy and numeracy
Will be proficient and confident to embrace new IT systems and technological advances
Will be able to remain calm in a busy office environment whilst dealing with competing priorities
Has strong interpersonal skills, can work effectively as part of a team and possesses a positive outlook
Preferably has experience of school admin and/or IT based administration systems
The ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences
The ability to use their own initiative
