The Financial Management Service within the Resources and Digital group operates at the core of the Council's financial operations. The Service is focused on the optimisation and safeguarding of financial and other resources in a dynamic and challenging environment.

About the role





An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic School Budget Support Officer to join our Accountancy team. Reporting to an Accountant you will work within the School Budget Support Team providing support to our schools. Duties will include drafting budget documentation and monitoring reports for school staff and governors and closure of the accounts at the end of the financial year. You will be required to provide financial advice and relevant, accurate and timely information to schools, assist in the operation and maintenance of information systems and ensure resources are accounted for properly.



It is essential that you should be a qualified Accounting Technician or hold an equivalent qualification and have experience of working in a financial management environment.

Essential Criteria




Relevant experience within a financial management environment. Explaining financial information to a range of clients both internal and external to the organisation. Experience working to statutory deadlines. Confident with minimum supervision and organising own workload.
AAT Qualified or equivalent (NVQ Level 4) or hold a relevant post qualification experience with relevant CPD
