Job Overview

We are seeking a professional and reliable Bus Driver to operate a 16 seater Transit minibus safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess excellent driving skills, a clean driving licence with D1 category and general understanding of vehicle maintenance.

The role involves transporting school children along a single designated route ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the journey whilst adhering to relevant timed collection and drop off locations. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to community mobility while maintaining high standards of safety and service.

Ideally suited to a resident in either Bankfoot, Murthly, Dunkeld or Stanley as the driver will be required to live nearby to one of the potential start points for the bus route.

Duties

Safely operate a Transit minibus on a scheduled route, adhering to traffic laws, company policies and timetables. Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and operational readiness Maintain records of mileage when fuelling and passenger counts Communicate effectively with passengers when necessary for safety Perform basic maintenance tasks such as checking fluid levels, tyre pressure, and reporting any mechanical issues Ensure the bus is clean, well-maintained, and presentable at all times Follow all safety protocols and emergency procedures during operations

Qualifications

Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record and D1 category Basic mechanical knowledge to help advise with routine vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting Experience with driving a minibus or commercial vehicles is advantageous Good organisational skills with the ability to follow schedules precisely Ability to work additional occasional flexible hours if necessary Demonstrated responsibility for safety and adherence to traffic regulations
