Job Vacancy: School Caretaker/Site Assistant (long term)

Location: Liverpool city centre secondary school

Duration: to start as soon as possible

Hours: 2 week timetable :-

Week 1 - 6.30am - 2.30pm

Week 2 - 11am - 7pm

Week 1 - 6.30am - 2.30pm

Week 2 - 11am - 7pm etc

Are you a proactive and dedicated individual looking for a caretaker role to make a positive impact in an educational setting? We are seeking a School Caretaker/Site Assistant to join a team at a well-regarded school in a city centre secondary school in Liverpool. This role is to start as soon as possible and to continue on an ongoing basis.

Key Responsibilities:

As a School Caretaker/Site Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Security and Safety: Ensuring the safety and security of the school premises, including locking and unlocking buildings, monitoring access, and responding to security concerns.
• Maintenance: Carrying out minor repairs and maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, fixing leaky faucets, and ensuring the general upkeep of school facilities.
• Cleaning: Performing cleaning duties as needed, including sweeping, mopping, and sanitising surfaces to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
• Grounds Maintenance: Assisting with the maintenance of the school grounds, including gardening, litter picking, and snow clearing as required.
• Health and Safety: Reporting any health and safety issues or concerns to the appropriate authorities and assisting with the implementation of safety protocols.
• Assistance: Providing assistance during school events, meetings, and activities, including setting up and taking down equipment and furniture.
• Communication: Collaborating with school staff and administration to address facility-related needs and communicate any maintenance or repair requirements.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Previous experience in a similar caretaker or facilities role is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to maintaining a safe and clean school environment.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations is an advantage.
• Hold an enhanced DBS or be willing to undertake a new one.

Working Conditions:

• This is a short-term, temporary position with a minimum duration of 4 weeks.
• You will work 7.5 hours per day.
