Job Description

Thank you for your interest in applying for the post of Catering Assistant. Magna Learning Partnership (MLP) is a Multi Academy Trust with three secondary schools, a sixth form college and six primary Schools. This role concentrates on the catering provision provided by Wyvern St Edmund's. The successful applicant will be part of a catering team that provide meals each day for staff and students.

We are looking to employ professional and dedicated individuals who can be part of this team, producing healthy, appealing food. You will need a basic level of knowledge of cooking and food hygiene and will help to maintain a clean, safe working environment.

The roles will be based at Wyvern St Edmund's during term time only (39 weeks per year). You will be line managed by the Catering Manager. You may be asked to assist with additional duties from time to time as required by the school. The full job description and person specification is included within this application pack.

The details of the role are:

Hours of work: 10.30am - 2.30pm, 20 hours per week (to cover lunch service)

Term time only (39 weeks).

Salary MLP Grade B Scale Point 2, FTE 23,657. Pro rata 10,999.

Holiday entitlement is built into the salary for term time workers

Role type: Permanent.

Main duties Main duties
Assist in all aspects of food preparation, cooking and serving of meals with regard to procedures and policies (such as food hygiene regulations).

Cleaning of preparation and eating area after meals, sanitizing

Plate up food and store ready for serving, prepare beverages

Help prepare area for meals, setting up and laying tables.

Carry out washing up, cleaning of equipment and kitchen areas as directed, including "deep clean" during holiday periods

Operate till for food sales, which may include cash handling
