Fusion school services are dedicated to provide exceptional catering services for our students and staff. We are currently seeking a reliable and motivated catering Manager to join our teams. Please email hr@fusionschoolservices.co.uk for an application pack.

Key responsibilities

Food Preparation and Cooking:

Prepare and cook food items to meet established quality standards, ensuring presentation, taste, and portion control.

Maintain consistent quality and presentation of dishes across all services.

Monitor ingredients and cooking processes to maintain quality and minimize waste.

Operational Oversight:

Support the Senior Catering Manager in providing guidance, training, and supervision to catering staff, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to standards.

Point of contact for kitchen staff I, addressing operational issues and providing support.

Oversee the daily workflow of the kitchen, ensuring efficient use of time and resources.

First point of contact to handle any customer complaints.

Inventory Management and Cost Control:

Assist with stock takes, ordering, and inventory management to minimize waste and maintain appropriate stock levels.

Staff Development:

Provide training and guidance to catering staff to ensure they meet

required standards and knowledge of procedures.

Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.

Comply with all relevant health and safety regulations.

Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications / experience

Previous catering experience in a school environment, preferred but not essential.

Ability to work in a team.

Reliable, punctual and able to work independently.

Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining our standards for our careering service

Good communication skills and a friendly attitude.

Experience of working in a commercial kitchen in a management role

Good communicator

High level of attention to detail

Able to use initiative within defined guidelines

Awareness of manual handling procedures

Knowledge of food preparation, methods and processes

Ability to be flexible in response to the demands of the service

Reliable Knowledge of HACCP, Health and Safety and COSHH policies and able to work unsupervised, delivering quality work

Willingness to attend any training courses including mandatory training as required to maintain and improve standards

Full DBS check and awareness of safeguarding principles
