To maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment throughout the school premises, ensuring all areas are presentable and conducive to learning and teaching.
Key Responsibilities
General Cleaning Tasks:
Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in classrooms, offices, hallways, and communal areas.
Dust and wipe furniture, ledges, skirting boards, and fixtures.
Empty bins and replace liners across all areas.
Clean and maintain windows, doors, and glass partitions.
Spot-clean walls, doors, and other surfaces as needed.
Toilets & Washrooms:
Clean and disinfect toilets, urinals, sinks, and surrounding surfaces.
Refill soap dispensers, paper towels, and toilet rolls.
Mop and sanitize floors.
Kitchen / Staff Areas:
Clean and disinfect sinks, worktops, cupboards, and tables.
Empty bins and maintain hygiene standards.
Mop floors and ensure kitchen areas are safe and tidy.
Specialist Areas:
Clean and maintain gym halls, PE areas, therapy rooms, and poolside areas if applicable.
Ensure safe handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment in all specialist areas.
Waste Management:
Collect and dispose of waste safely according to school procedures.
Separate recycling where appropriate.
Health & Safety Compliance:
Follow COSHH and school safety policies when using cleaning chemicals.
Report any hazards, broken equipment, or maintenance issues to supervisors.
Adhere to all school safeguarding and security procedures.
Other Duties:
Assist with deep cleans, end-of-term cleans, or special events as required.
Support the facilities team with ad hoc cleaning tasks.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: 12.21 per hour
Expected hours: 17.5 per week
