How you'll make a difference:
As a School Effectiveness Lead, you will promote the highest possible standards of education for young people aged between 16-25 across South Gloucestershire.
We are passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people, and you will provide strategic leadership and support and guidance to schools, colleges and providers whilst working closely with Multi-Academy Trust partners.
What you will be doing:
Focusing on your expertise and skills, you will develop and deliver a Post 16 Strategy including a specific focus on provision for young people with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disability).  
You will work closely with council teams to deliver positive progression for vulnerable groups overrepresented in NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) data.
It will be key for you to deliver policy development and activity across the council.
Analysing information and data, you will use this to prioritise your work and chair meetings with schools and other partners to plan, support and improve outcomes.
Using your knowledge of the education legislations and policies, you will feedback to leaders, providing support and challenge where necessary to promote improvement.
It will be your responsibility to contribute to the formulation and realisation of strategies to deliver improvements in outcomes for disadvantaged young people.
You will be responsible for leading Skills and Employability programmes and teams aimed at supporting young people and those at risk of NEET. This will include managing project budgets, line managing staff, completing reports and returns and meeting project KPIs and expectations.
What we need from you:
You must hold a degree or equivalent qualification and professional qualification in teaching, education, or learning skills.
You need to have experience in working as a highly effective leader in an educational field relevant to this post e.g. Post 16 education or skills, inclusion or SEND.
We require you to have experience of leading projects/ plans or work streams that deliver on budget and time.
It is essential for you to have sound knowledge of the education legislation, statutory guidance, quality frameworks, national policies and initiatives that apply to Post 16 education including the Ofsted framework.
As you will be working with a range of colleagues, including educational leaders, you will have the necessary skills to challenge, advise and support when necessary.
You must be solution focussed and able to work with officers and leaders to develop solutions to complex issues and manage change effectively for system partners and members of the council.

Please note that due to the nature of this role it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained for this post.
Salary is as advertised but in addition to this, up to 3 SPAs can be applied for on meeting the eligibility criteria.
