The Role:

You will play a key role in delivering a high quality, accountancy and auditing service to schools - providing accountancy support to a portfolio of school clients, carrying out internal audits and developing and training school-based staff in accounting practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Assisting schools and academies in their day-to-day accounting operations (e.g. ordering, invoicing, bank reconciliations, journal processing and VAT returns) Providing advice, support and guidance to schools and academies in budget preparation, monitoring and reporting Assisting with the preparation of statutory financial returns Reviewing schools internal control systems, identifying any weaknesses and providing recommendations for improvement Assisting schools with medium term financial planning Supporting in the production of management accounts Supporting in the year end account closure process preparing final trial balance and supporting schedules for auditors Providing telephone and email support to offer general financial & business support, advice and guidance via our helpdesk

: 25,000 - 40,000 per year (based on experience and skills)

Hours

: Full-time (37 hours/week)

Location

: Access to a car and flexibility to travel is essential. The company office is outside Colchester, Essex; however, work will usually be carried out on client premises. Some remote working is available.
