Job Description

We are recruiting an additional general kitchen assistant, to join our team at Jerounds Primary Academy in Harlow, to support lunch time service each day.

You will:

work closely with the Catering Manager to provide an inspiring school meals service maintain the highest standards in food hygiene and health and safety prepare fresh ingredients to create imaginative, appealing and nutritious meals set up for service, serving children and staff in a friendly and professional manner, clear away and wash up support the school's ethos of healthy eating
You will be able to demonstrate skills in food preparation, team working, customer service, effective communication, working to deadlines and flexibility.

Ideally you will have:

experience in catering, or a demonstrable passion for - and knowledge of - food from cooking at home experience of working as part of a team some knowledge and understanding of food safety procedures and be ready to undertake training
Salary 12.21 per hour

Term Time only - 36.8 weeks/pa + 5 inset days

Hours will be 11.00am to 2.00pm, Monday to Friday, 15 hours/week

Candidates must be prepared to obtain an enhanced DBS disclosure which is satisfactory to both Ashlyns and the school and be rechecked throughout their employment. All other safe guarding conditions including clearances for satisfactory references, medicals and right of work in the UK must be obtained
