School Group Business Development Manager

From a travel perspective, the ideal candidate will have spent time trekking, or travelling, in either the Himalaya, the Andes, Africa or Southeast Asia. You must have a passion and understanding for our style of sustainable travel and want to share that knowledge. A background in travel industry is necessary and previous experience organising tailor made school trips/expeditions is definitely preferred.

The role involves planning and coordinating school trips, managing bookings, and handling logistics for your groups. The business development aspect includes generating sales leads, building client relationships, and creating bespoke quotes to drive new business and growth. Key responsibilities are creating travel proposals, liaising with suppliers, managing budgets, ensuring safety compliance, and providing excellent customer service.

The ideal candidate would be well organised, have excellent computer skills, outstanding verbal/writing abilities, be a confident presenter, attention to detail are required. You must have a keen eye for detail, possess a positive attitude and be able to work unsupervised and under pressure.

Key responsibilities



Plan and organize group travel, including flights, accommodation, and activities, for school groups.

Create tailored tour proposals based on client needs, budgets, and group requirements.

Book all travel components and manage bookings with suppliers and vendors.

Provide detailed itineraries and ensure all travel arrangements are accurate and complete.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations, travel policies, and health and safety standards.

Assist with resolving any travel-related issues or emergencies that arise.

Generate and follow up on sales leads to develop new business opportunities.

Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential school customers.

Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and revenue.

Promote the company's travel services and brand to new clients.

Analyze sales performance, customer feedback, and market data to identify areas for improvement and growth.
