27.5 Hours per week, 5 Weeks per year (School summer holidays)

The Play Service is seeking caring and inclusive individuals to join our team as Play and Wellbeing Support Workers. This rewarding role involves supporting children and young people with additional learning needs, disabilities, complex needs, or behavioural needs, ensuring they can fully participate in play and wellbeing activities during the school holidays.

As a Support Worker, you may provide one-to-one support or work with small groups of children who require additional assistance. Your role will be to help children engage in play, adapt activities to meet their individual needs, and create a safe, welcoming environment where every child can thrive. You may be involved in a variety of programmes, including play and respite sessions, community playschemes, and Food and Fun Camps, all designed to promote wellbeing and inclusion.

We are looking for individuals with patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting children. Previous experience of working with children or young people who require additional support is desirable, but not essential, as full training will be provided.

The summer programme will run for four weeks, starting on Monday 27th July. To prepare, there will be a training week beginning Monday 20th July, where you will gain the skills and confidence needed to deliver high-quality play opportunities.
