We are seeking a proactive, organised, and confidential
HR Administrator
to support the day-to-day operations of our busy school office on a temporary basis. This role is essential to ensure all HR processes run smoothly and in line with safeguarding and compliance requirements. You will be providing HR administrative support until the end of the October half-term.
Key Responsibilities
Support the recruitment process: placing job adverts, arranging interviews, preparing offer letters, and conducting pre-employment checks
Maintain and update the Single Central Record (SCR) in line with safeguarding guidelines
Process new starter paperwork including contracts, DBS checks, right-to-work documentation, and reference requests
Monitor staff absences and maintain absence records
Support with onboarding and induction processes for new staff
Ensure all HR files (digital and physical) are maintained and compliant with data protection requirements
Assist with payroll administration by collating timesheets and absence reports
Provide general administrative support to the school office and Senior Leadership Team as required
Person Specification
Essential:
Previous experience in an administrative or HR-related role, ideally within a school or educational setting
Working knowledge of safer recruitment practices and DBS processing
Familiarity with maintaining the Single Central Record (SCR)
High level of attention to detail and confidentiality
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and school MIS systems (e.g. SIMS, iSAMS or equivalent)
Desirable:
CIPD Level 3 (or working towards)
Experience using HRIS (e.g. iTrent)
Knowledge of school payroll processes
Must Have Enhanced DBS!!
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: 16.00-18.00 per hour
