Job role
To support the school catering team in preparing and serving nutritious meals to learners and staff, maintaining high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety.
Main Duties:
Assist with the preparation of food and ingredients as directed Set up and clear away dining areas before and after service Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, dining areas, and storage spaces Follow food hygiene, health & safety, and allergy procedures at all times Assist with stock rotation and basic deliveries where required Work as part of a team to ensure smooth and timely meal service
The successful candidate will have:
Previous kitchen or catering experience desirable but not essential Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment Good teamwork and communication skills Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety (training provided) Reliable, punctual, and well organised Friendly and approachable manner with children and staff Positive attitude and willingness to learn Physically able to carry out kitchen duties
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: 12.21 per hour
Expected hours: 30 per week
