Purpose of the Position
Responsibility for the safe operation of a school minibus at all times when in use for driving staff and pupils. To provide an efficient and safe transport service, as well as ensuring checks are carried out to the minibus prior to driving.
Moving furniture, boxes, paper and equipment around the school and delivering post, parcels, furniture and ad hoc items. Taking over, or assisting with, essential cleaning tasks in the absence of other cleaning staff.
Responsibilities & Duties
To drive the schools fleet of mini buses and cars;
Transport pupils to and from school to sporting activities as timetabled as required;
Transport pupils and staff on outings and other schedules journeys as directed;
Complete airport/railway drop offs & pickups as required;
Be responsible for the safety and supervision of pupils, including their good behaviour, on all journeys and to report any issues to the school;
Maintain bus registers;
Moving furniture, boxes, paper and equipment around the school and delivering post, parcels, furniture and ad hoc items.
Taking over, or assisting with, essential cleaning tasks in the absence of other cleaning staff.
Erecting garden marquees.
Occasional painting, manual labouring working alongside the works team on building projects.
Occasional putting up of shelf units, beds and general DIY alongside the works team.
Keeping yards, paths, drives, playgrounds and tennis courts clear of rubbish, leaves, snow and ice (manual sweeping and machines; gritting in icy conditions).
On occasion, opening / locking up and security of the buildings.
Comply with Health and Safety legislation at all times in all areas of the school
To offer the service in a polite and friendly manner, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and professionalism throughout the School.
Domestic Services personnel can be required to work alone or in teams. All staff are expected to be courteous to colleagues and students and provide a welcoming environment to parents and other visitors.
