About the role



We are seeking enthusiastic minibus drivers to support our growing pupil transport network. In the mornings the drivers will collect pupils from specified pick-up points and deliver them to school, then deliver them to specified drop off points at the end of the school day, before returning the buses to school.

The successful candidate will have a full UK driving licence with at least three years of driving experience. D1 entitlement is preferred, but not essential. Our team of minibus drivers perform an essential function in the school's operation and high standards of safety, reliability and punctuality are key.

JOB DESCRIPTION



ACCOUNTABLE TO



Bursar

CORE PURPOSE



To operate a pick-up and drop off service in the morning and after school, from Monday to Friday during term-time, on one of several routes.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES



Collect pupils from specified pick-up points in the morning and deliver them to specified drop-off points at the end of the school day Be willing and available for other school trips Perform preparatory maintenance checks (lights, tyres, fuel, horn, mirrors) before each journey and record details of each trip, reporting any concerns promptly Be responsible for the safety and comfort of the passengers and drive courteously, and with due care and attention at all times Comply with the rules and procedures for driving school minibuses that are laid down in the School mini-bus policy Be smartly dressed at all times and wear a hi-visibility vest

Requirements



Hold a full UK driving licence (D1 entitlement preferred) and have no more than 3 penalty points for a minor offence Have at least 3 years' driving experience

Have regard to all School policies and procedures Read and follow all relevant policies and procedures (in particular Health and Safety and Safeguarding and Child Protection policies) Be alert at all times to Health and Safety or Safeguarding issues or potential issues and report these as appropriate Participate in meetings at the School including staff meetings and training held before the start of each term and attending other School events / functions as directed by the Head Perform any other duties as commensurate with the post that the Head may reasonably ask the staff member to perform from time to time
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12.50 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 18 per week
