We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated

Operations Manager

to join our Senior Leadership Team and lead on the strategic and operational management of a Secondary School in our Academy. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to make a significant impact on the success and efficiency of a thriving school environment.

The Role



ASAP start, full time! Pay depending on experience - standard working hours, exact times to be confirmed on appointment.



As Operations Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across a range of essential services, including:

Premises and facilities management Health & Safety ICT and reprographics HR and administration Catering and cover Community use and lettings
You will ensure that all resources, systems, and operational staff are managed effectively to support the educational aims of the academy. This is a key leadership role that will see you contributing to strategic planning and decision-making as a valued member of the Senior Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities



Lead and manage operational staff, ensuring high performance, motivation, and professional development. Oversee operational budgets and contribute to strategic financial planning. Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, legislation, and safeguarding requirements. Manage procurement, contracts, and service-level agreements to achieve best value. Oversee Health & Safety, risk assessments, and emergency planning. Collaborate with L.E.A.D. central teams and external partners to ensure best practice in operations and premises management. Lead on ICT systems and data management in alignment with academy development plans. Promote the academy to the wider community, developing partnerships and lettings opportunities.

About You



You will be an experienced operational or business manager with a track record of leadership in a school, education, or business environment. You'll be confident managing teams, budgets, and complex projects, and thrive on ensuring that systems run smoothly and efficiently.

Essential skills and experience include:



Proven leadership and management experience. Strong financial management and budgeting skills. Experience managing procurement, contracts, and compliance. Excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills. Sound understanding of Health & Safety and safeguarding regulations. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
A relevant degree (or equivalent experience) is required, and a professional management qualification would be an advantage.
