Hybrid: Stopford House and homeworking (ideally one or two days a month in the office)

Your Role



We are seeking a talented Business Intelligence Analyst to join our Education Data Team at Stockport Council.


The successful candidate will work with the Education Data Manager and Senior School Performance Analyst within the Education Data Team.

About You





The ideal candidate will have the following

essential

skills

:

Analytical skills

and can interpret information and identify inaccuracies. Knowledge/experience with

SQL and/or VBA and/or Macros

. Displays

effective interpersonal skills,

collaborating with both internal and external teams to achieve positive outcomes. Brings experience in

assisting projects

from inception to completion, achieving both time and quality objectives. Exhibits

excellent organizational skills

, proficient in negotiating and managing workloads. Shows an enthusiasm to

learn new techniques

and approaches to working with data, seeking out way to improve processes and devise innovative solutions to problems. Can provide tangible examples of

personal growth

and development in a previous role. Holds practical experience with

MS Excel.

Very desirable:

Previous involvement in an

education/education data setting

(i.e. a school, Academy Trust or a council's Education team), along with familiarity with relevant systems (especially SIMS)

About Us




As well as the key responsibilities listed above, the role also offers opportunity for further development and training around producing education dashboards via Tableau (training provided), and contributing to the preparation and enhancement of reports that support school performance improvement. There will also be opportunities, if the candidate wishes, to represent SMBC in regional and national education data working groups, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with the team to improve the pupil tracking system, enhancing schools' ability to analyse assessment data and elevate children's attainment. You will also be able to identify data requirements and analyses to drive operational improvements and align the Council's strategic direction for Education.
